Christmas Party

This is a very exciting week for us at Crosspoint. Friday is our Christmas party!

This will be extra special this year as we will celebrate in an almost completed sanctuary. We will be able to enjoy our meal, hear the story of Christ, and open our gifts in a space that has been built with love and lots of hard work!

Last year we had 101 people at our celebration. Did you know that you need 3-20lb turkeys to feed that many people ?  It takes a lot of food to fill all those mouths. We are very thankful for generous donors who are covering the cost of this meal for us.

As we meet to celebrate the birth of Christ, we wait patiently for His arrival.

We wish you a Merry Christmas! May the hope and joy of the season fill your heart.

Hectic Holidays

The holidays are a time of great excitement for the children at Crosspoint. We have two huge feasts during the late fall, including Thanksgiving and Christmas. As soon as Thanksgiving ends, our kids look forward to Christmas. We encourage them to walk through the journey of Advent with us and learn more about what it means to wait for the gift of Christ.

It also means that they are waiting for their presents! While most kids get lots of gifts every year, for some of ours that is simply not true. In fact, we know that for many of them, this will be the only personal gift they receive. This is a sobering reality, but one that we do our best to provide through generous donors who have the heart to provide a present under the tree.

This year, we will all receive a huge gift in that the sanctuary of the church is almost done.  For the first time we will be in a heated building, with clean walls and insulation, a wonderful wood floor, and a space big enough for everyone to sit. This gift has been given through people that donated sacrificially to provide a space for us and through a general contractor, who was facing slow times in this economy, who put his free time into building a space for us this Christmas.

While the need is still great, we have much to be thankful for. As we await the birth of our Savior, we will sit in the midst of what He is for us right now. Our Christmas prayer is for a gift for each and every child, and that God's grace will continue to pour out on us as we do this work in KCK.

Welcome to Crosspoint of KCK!

Crosspoint KCK is a ministry in the Turner district of Kansas City, KS. Our goal is to bring the message of Christ the lost and broken people in our community and to provide for the lives of children on Friday evenings. We hope in the future to expand our presence into tutoring, adult enrichment and life skills training.

Our main event is on Friday evenings. During this time we provide a fully cooked meal for the children that attend, we have a time of prayer, and then we meet in classrooms to learn what it means to be Christian and to develop a transforming relationship with God. This includes times of fun and crafts. During the summer months we have fun at the park, at a playground, or at a water park.

Our life together can be challenging. But, the rewards of learning to live in community and become more like Christ make it all worth it.
